The irony of the modern world: even as the globe is increasingly connected, we find ourselves distanced and pulled apart by the complexity of it all... With advanced social networking sites and blogs easily available, I wondered if a personal website were not obsolete, much as a hand-written diary seems anachronistic. However, I choose to maintain some perspective on process and place. The process of recording here lets me focus on the rapid changes our lives, and indeed humanity, is undergoing. As far as place: there is no place like home, even if it is electronic, a ghost in the machine: eyesky!

It has been more than two years since Marloes and I moved to Leiden and adopted our dog Lucky. Marloes is working with a Dutch national homecare administration organization. I completed my Masters in Finance and am now completing a part-time MBA. I have also started a business consulting firm. Meanwhile, I am working towards my Dutch citizenship. |
